Ashburton Lights festival

We had a spur of the moment trip up to Ashburton to a free community lights festival last night. Despite gale force nor'west winds at home, reports from further up the road indicated very little wind. This proved to be correct.

Arriving at sunset there were crowds pouring into the domain. Taking my camera and tripod, most of the following phots were taken at f/22, ISO 100 and at 2-4s in order to blur out the constantly moving people.

The first display.

These stars were moving in a breeze

Look carefully and you can see people in most of these photos.

It was great to see so many families out enjoying this spectacle. Interactive displays were keenly engaged with by both young and not so young! A great show, well done Ashburton.
