English Gardens - Summer 2009, Part 2

The second part of my selected photos from a few English gardens, parks we visited (plus one photo taken in Scotland!).

English Gardens - Part 1

After Sissinghurst it was on the the south coast of England and eventually to Cornwall. The Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Eden Project were high on the list of places to go.
Keeping on eye on passers by! Lost Gardens of Heligan.
Massive rhodo, Lost Gardens of Heligan.

Pity we were there in high summer after the rhodos had flowered.

After Cornwall you have to go north so the Cotswolds beckoned and what a great part of England this is. Surprisingly not far from London either when we got to Oxford and Blenheim Palace. Hidcote Manor and Stratford-upon-Avon were on our bucket list of gardens to visit.

Hidcote Manor

After our Shakespearean experience at Stratford-upon-Avon it was time to head towards Hidcote. See the rather bland cloudy sky - well it was another rainy day but we manged to get around without getting too wet although we had to wait in the crowded cafe for the rain to stop first.

After Hidcote another day saw us head towards Blenheim Palace. A stop at Bladdon on the way to pay homage to the Churchills was well worthwhile.

The final photo is this bright colourful scene at Melrose, just south of Edinburgh.

That's all for now, we are off to Norway next week so will have some great photos for you to have  a look at in August or September.
